Our client is a leading tier 1 global telecommunications service provider. They provide a full range of Voice, Data and IP network services into large corporate clients. Technologies include MPLS, IP-VPN, Leased Line, ATM, Frame Relay, VoIP, Data Centres, Security and Managed Firewalls. They are headquartered in the City of London.
The Pre Sales Consultant is responsible for capturing and qualifying the customer’s technical requirements and designing a robust, supportable and commercially viable solution from within the product portfolio. We are looking for a specialist within Systems Integration, Managed Network Services and Security Solutions.
- Work with assigned Sales teams to engage directly with the customer to capture technical requirements
- Act as Bid Manager for RFP responses
- Advise on Bid/No Bid decisions based on technical and commercial considerations
- Liaise with product teams in Europe and Global affiliates to ensure any proposed solution is authorized and supported by the company
- To articulate both through professionally written submissions and orally delivered presentations complex designs, technologies and solutions to both technical and non-technical customers in order to communicate the associated features and business benefits
- Advise on SLA criteria and ensure the solution is both technically and commercially viable
- Regularly update and train the Sales Teams on product and technical aspects
Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 Years presales design experience for an international carrier or systems integrator.
- Excellent product knowledge around Systems Integration, Managed Network Services and Security Solutions.
- Established and successful in a commercial environment, with previous experience in a Customer-facing pre-Sales technical role and thorough understanding of engineering, sales principles and practices, and the Network design necessary to translate customer requirements into strategic proposals
- Experience of Cisco, Juniper, Trend Micro, Fortinet, Bluecoat and other related technology vendors

Our client is a leading provider of fixed and mobile communication services to businesses globally. The Unified Communications team deliver a full range of solutions across IP Telephony, PABX, Contact Centre, Voice, Data and Unified Communications.
The Technical Partner Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the on-going roadmap for a Microsoft Unified Communications solution. The role will require both business & technical engagement with Microsoft to develop a channel relationship and enable us to provide an effective alternative solution to traditional IP PBX
The role must ensure the Microsoft solution aligns to existing Sell, Deliver & Operate processes for other vendor solutions, and where deviations occur, work with the responsible teams to develop processes specific to the solution. The individual must have a very extensive technical understanding of Microsoft’s UC portfolio, partner programme engagement model and can build rapidly the model to deliver a profitable business within the Unified Communications business.
Key Responsibilities:
Acts as subject matter expert for all technical components of the Microsoft version of the Unified Communications solution (enterprise infrastructure, networks, security)
Own development of Microsoft architecture against product roadmap
Responsible for interfacing with the Sell, Deliver & Operate leads to ensure the Microsoft Solution can be integrated into the delivery teams and achieve acceptance sign-off for all elements
Responsible for creation of Microsoft Solution High Level Design.
Responsible for engaging initial customers and ensuring that the solution is implemented successfully in the first few customers.
Responsible for managing and growing technical relationships with Microsoft UC Product Group, Microsoft partners and local UK contacts, through virtual team management
Responsible for solution roadmap
Responsible for Microsoft technical support, management and development
Technical / Professional Expertise:
Experience working in a major software or IT services consulting role preferred
Microsoft technical professional qualifications preferred. . Ideally the candidate would have Microsoft MCSE certification in related areas, in particular Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office Communication Server and Windows Mobile.
Demonstrable experience in telephony systems integration,
Demonstrated leadership experience in complex solutions delivery engagements with major enterprises
Exceptional customer relationship management skills at all levels up to executive level
Prince II or equivalent project management certification preferred
Degree qualified or equivalent in an computer science or engineering discipline
